Recent topics have included the use of social media in the office or facility setting, disclosure and apology, and communication basics,  to name a few. ABOUT COVERYS
Coverys is committed to delivering outstanding products to the healthcare community and supporting these products with excellent service and unquestioned financial strength. We provide protection to more than 25,000 physicians, surgeons, and dentists as well as more than 500 hospitals, health centers and clinics in 23 states from coast to coast.
CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR LICENSE RENEWAL
Continuing medical education is a condition of license renewal in almost all states. In some states, there are specific requirements for CME courses in domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, and/or pain management. Several states, including Massachusetts and Florida, also require some or all of their physicians to obtain CME credits in risk management.
ADVANTAGE OF EARNING CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS THROUGH AN INSURANCE PROVIDER
Continuing education credits can be earned through hospitals, medical schools, and other healthcare institutions. Indeed, these may be the best places to earn continuing education credits in clinical areas. In risk management, however, an insurance provider is able to aggregate - and then to present to healthcare learners - large quantities of risk management data. As a result, an insurance provider such as Coverys is able to pinpoint trouble spots that may become trends if left unchecked.

For over three decades, our risk management and healthcare provider education departments have offered innovation and dedication in improving patient care and increasing patient safety. Registered nurses offer onsite and telephone consulting services to healthcare providers in their office and hospital settings, helping them identify and then correct risk exposures. Onsite and online education activities are an extension of this effort. Coverys' courses include actual case studies and offer risk management strategies developed out of medical malpractice claims data, hands-on experience in the office and hospital settings and current trends in literature.

ELIGIBILITY
At Coverys we are often asked if our courses are for insureds only, and we are happy to report that our education is available to all healthcare providers.
CONTENT EXPERTS AND AUTHORS
All courses developed for CoverysEducation.com are reviewed by an education content committee, which includes physician advisors, risk management consultants, claim representatives, and members of the Healthcare Provider Education Department.  This committee reviews all courses for content and clarity and makes suggestions for changes as appropriate. Depending on the topic that is being presented, the information may be provided by an attorney, a physician or a risk management consultant.
